By giving the destination they will council you with place of attraction, weather, local culture and practise, language etc.
If you travelling internationally they explain you with the customs regulations, passports, visas, vaccination certificates, and rate of exchange in the currency market. When they have selected your destination the next thing they will do is to buy tickets for you. Since they have access to various online tickets booking system, they will arrange you with the cheap flights, trains and cruise lines. They can even offer you with high rate of discounts if you are travelling in large groups.
Travel agencies even take care of hotel accommodations, car rentals and even tour operators. With their experience and knowledge they chose best hotels in terms of comfort, cleanliness, privacy, and good quality of services. Always compare with the package offer by different travel agencies and also their service charges before choosing the final one. Ask the intimate details like if you cancel at the last moment what will be the cancellation charges, will you get the money back, your tickets are for business class or economic class, arrival and departure of flights, distance between the airports and hotels, terms and policies attached, etc. There may be a pocket pinch with these travel agencies but surely you can have a tour without any stress.

An Australian Christmas
So, once again we come to that time of the year where it all gets a little bit colder and we want nothing more than to be curled up in front of the fire with a nice hot cuppa. Providing, of course, we live in freezing old Blighty, the USA, or even most of Europe (perhaps, it must be noted, with less tea in the latter cases).
But of course, in many places around the world, Christmas is a warm time characterized by sun and the necessary fun that comes with. This is especially true of our antipodean friends in Australia, where Christmas day typically consists of a barbecue with a nice few cool beers and lots of swimming as the height of summer beats down across the revelling Aussies.
So, there’s nothing new there. What is new however is the ever-increasing number of people seeking to spend their Christmas away from the accustomed torrential snowfall (or even the accustomed freezing temperatures and distinct lack of the white matter). It’s one of the biggest trends in travel since Thailand became the must-go place for young people in the 90s; people are going looking for a winter that’s infinitely more pleasant than all the highs of the English summer put together.

Thus it is an idea that especially appeals to the perpetual summer-seekers. However, it can also be interesting for those among you who are always seeking out new experiences, and an Australian summer opens up a whole range of travel options around the country; many forget about Christmas altogether and become absorbed in the natural beauty of the landscape, and of course the laid-back Australian attitude (not to mention ice-cold beers in the sweltering heat). Some don’t come back.
Christmas means a very different thing to the Australians. It simply means, being Australian, only with an excuse to enjoy the finer parts of the life (the food, drink and relaxing), just that little bit more. In a Western society where Christmas is commercialized to the point that stores will advertise from August, perhaps this freedom and detachment is precisely what many of us need.
How to carry out executive training abroad
Keeping Cinderella's coach from turning into a pumpkin HR managers often assume that the purpose of coaching is to increase managers’ performance. Research has found the the best way to carry out a productive coaching session is to do it in a place where the participants feel comfortable. So why not train in another country away from the stress of daily life? Or even on a city break?
The difference between coaches, mentors and managers
While on the training holiday it is important to know the differences between managerial roles. Executive coaching initiatives fail in part because the distinction between the role of manager, mentor and coach is not well understood. Each can help executives meet their principal objectives—life development, leadership and self-awareness—but a manager, a mentor and a coach are not the same things. You should differentiate between these on the training holiday in the exercises you carry out. Then, at a dinner for example, the roles can be played down to show flexibility.
Managers
A manager occupies a formal role within an organization and is responsible for ensuring that the primary tasks of the team/department/business unit/corporation are met. A manager can use coaching skills to informally coach a subordinate, but this “coaching” is in the service of the subordinate’s organizational task.
Mentors
A mentor occupies a close interpersonal role and helps guide a protégé’s corporate career choices. A mentor can be a formally designated role or an informally acquired one. Formal mentors help their protégé understand the organization and support their journey within it, with the assumption of a long-term career in the company.
Coach
A coach is concerned with deep personal and professional development—the emphasis is on personal. The most effective coaches are external to the company, where they are independent of organizational pressure and political influence and free to offer more-or-less objective counsel and guidance.
The engineering and clinical approaches to executive coaching:
Most corporate executive coaching initiatives take an engineering approach to human behavior using a conscious, rational and concrete approach. This method identifies areas for improvement and then applies tools, processes and procedures to increase performance. This can be applied anywhere, at home or away.
Questions to ask
- How might I benefit from executive coaching away from home?
- How might my company benefit from coaching away from home?
- How can I integrate executive coaching? Team coaching? Peer coaching?

New Year Expeditions
I have never really got into the full swing of New Year and its festivities. To me it feels like just one big anti-climax of drunkenness and feelings of superficial goodwill with people you wouldn't want to spend the rest of the year with. Do I sound unsociable? But last year I decided things had to change and 2011 would be the last year that I would spend the night in the UK with the generic Chinese takeaway and Jools Holland. I came to the conclusion that taking the party anywhere else other than home (ie. out of the country) would be better than what I had experienced up until now. So this is why, with feelings of abounding excitement, I booked a weekend away in Copenhagen.
I have to confess my knowledge of Copenhagen and Denmark in general is pretty sparse, but I have always heard good things about it. Although cold at this time of year, the city seems at its most beautiful with clear sky and sea. New Year is a big thing here and the locals go to town with celebrations, but all appear to be civilised and far from the unruly drinking habits of New Year in Britain. Certain traditions are also carried out in Denmark's capital. On the 31st December, most homes and hotels put on a buffet style meal before the events of the forthcoming evening. Everyone then gathers into the square of Amalienborg, the Royal Palace and waits for midnight. Of course, many of the younger Danes choose to go to a club as an after party but I guess it would be easy to decide where the night takes you when you are there in the midst of the festivities.
So, unlike in the past, I am thoroughly looking froward to New Year 2011. A change of scenery and way of life is on the cards. In a way, it is killing to birds with one stone. If you stay for a few days over New Year, your days can be filled with sightseeing and experiencing the Danish culture. Just remind me to wear numerous layers!
